- Depth of discharge: Lithium gives 80–90% usable capacity; lead-acid should not go below 50%. A 150Ah lead-acid battery is really ~75Ah of usable power.
- Maintenance: Lead-acid needs distilled-water top-ups and a ventilated room. Lithium is fit-and-forget, wall-mountable.
- Cycles: Lithium lasts 3,000–6,000 cycles; lead-acid 1,000–1,500. For daily backup use, lithium wins on 10-year cost even at double the sticker price.
- Heat: Rajasthan summers punish lead-acid — lifespan drops fast above 40°C. Lithium handles heat far better.

- You want night-time solar usage instead of buying grid power after sunset.

- You're in Jaipur city with rare cuts — on-grid + net metering already zeroes your bill.
- Your main goal is saving money, not backup. Batteries roughly double system cost.
